Travel Club Committee Meetings
Lately, we have had individuals attending the committee meetings and then finding our that the meetings are really work sessions for the committee. (Turns out, the meetings are not as much fun as everyone expected.)
The monthly meetings are the work sessions for the committee to review all of the tasks required for each tour. We would never turn anyone away from the meeting but they are usually closed-door work sessions. They are not presentations on future trips.
There are times when the committee needs to move the work session since it coincides with one of our trips.
Unfortunately, there are also times when we cannot get a conference room in the clubhouse so we have to have the meeting at a committee members home. We would never invite the public into someone's home.
We have requested an update to the HOA calendar to indicate the meeting as "Travel Club Working Session"
The travel club does hold specific trip presentations and the Annual Community event. We will let the travel club members as well as the HOA community know about the special presentations. We just held a presentation on the Galapagos Island Cruise trip.
Once a year, in June or July, the travel club hosts the annual community event where we review the last year, the current trips or events and discuss the future trips and survey. We have been doing this for the last 5 years.
As always, we will promote the event in the monthly newsletter and through the HOA communications.
CANCELLED!
Richmond Wine Tour
April 14th to 16th, 2027
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel this event.
We just did not have enough interest in the tour.
(It happens - Not everything is hit right from the start.)
Your committee has been researching and getting feedback. Richmond is very close so it does not seam like a true get-a-way.
The committee was looking into one day trips. While the components of the trip were interesting, most people would still have preferred an over-night trip to Richmond instead of a day trip. Too much time would be spent on just getting there and returning.
Stay tuned. Your committee is working on breaking up the trip into one-night or day trips.
